This super healthy green dot recipe is a great balance of carbohydrates, heart healthy fats, protein and dietary fiber. Just one sesame ball will meet about 1 oz of MyPlate protein and .24 cup of fruit equivalents. It is an excellent source of copper (65% RDA) and good sources of iron (12% of RDA) and Calcium (10% RDA). Calcium helps prevent osteoporosis. Copper and iron together enable the body to form red blood cells. Copper is also known for its use in reducing some pain and swelling related to rheumatoid arthritis. In addition, sesame seeds contain two important nutrients (sesamin and sesamolin) known as liganans, that have been shown to have a cholesterol lowering effect in human and to prevent high blood pressure.
